A Holy Terror review

Posted : 9 years, 6 months ago on 28 December 2015 08:43 (A review of A Holy Terror)

proto-Spaghetti Western! Make one wonder what Hollyweird Westerns would have been like without the Production Code mucking things up. The cowboy's the villain, not the anti-hero (Bogart in his 5th full length screen appearance), it's about revenge, a bit of "Giallo" type mystery... So much so that the "I only like Hollywood Westerns" types probably wouldn't like it. Fans of the Italian genre will be pleasantly surprised, I think, and surprised this is Hollywood 1931. Moves right along with a good plot. Interesting looking at something from 1931 that wasn't supposed to be period, but contemporary. 85 years...it's pretty obvious. Definitely recommended. Don't let the Ford Bunch put you off!
